Meet Sarah

Sarah Wilkinson grew up on Cape Ann and believes deeply in service, responsibility, and showing up for her community. A local business owner and trusted community leader, she brings more than 25 years of professional experience and 18 years of service on Rockport’s Board of Selectmen, including five terms as Chairwoman.

Sarah’s commitment to others was shaped early in life. While in college, the sudden loss of her father required her to step into a leadership role beyond her years—helping run her family’s local inn, supporting her mother, and helping raise her younger siblings. That experience instilled resilience, compassion, and a belief that leadership means taking responsibility when it matters most.

In her almost two decades on the Board of Selectmen, Sarah helped guide Rockport through the 2008 financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic while protecting essential services, keeping taxes among the lowest in Essex County, and maintaining a strong AA+ bond rating. Her work includes securing a $1.3 million FEMA grant to protect the Long Beach seawall, conserving local open space, fully funding the School Resource Officer program, and supporting small businesses through the creation of a licensed outdoor dining program.

Sarah continues to serve Cape Ann as a board member of the CCB Foundation, which operates the CORE Peer Recovery & Resource Center, supporting individuals affected by substance use disorder, and as Vice President of Friends of Rockport Athletics, advocating for local student-athletes.

Sarah lives in Rockport with her husband Greg and their two sons and is running for State Representative to bring experience, integrity, and proven leadership to Beacon Hill—and to be a strong voice for Cape Ann.
